Mountain Biking Ireland – Fantastic outdoor adventure for anyone with a passion for excitement and fun.
It’s been a long time since my backside has felt the hard leather of a saddle, I used to think that a soft wide saddle was the king of summer time and answer to a sore ass, but alas after I was told that was not the way it soon became that. less friction with smaller saddle or so it appears, also the buttocks seem to adapt to the harness with in a few rides. I guess being a heavier set man I spent a lot more time on the saddle than most and thought comfort over form and style. Again this was not the right way to think.
Anyway the good news is bike that I had in storage so I wouldn’t have to look at it and be all like “DAM I NEED TO RIDE IT” has come back to me. And yes now im like “NEED TO RIDE” mountain biking in Ireland is a great sport, it gets you out and about, you can travel for miles, get some exercise and meet some fellow minded individuals. oh wait wait wait…. the feckers of the road cyclers. hmmm lets talk about them…. the on-roaders, I was one, I am one, I have been and will be again to some extent. There seems to be not so much comrades between them but like one is better than the other. For on road its about the time clocking up miles and Offroad is about the elevation, the technical side the thrill.
I love to ride, I like the thrill of the speed of the downhill chase, the soft flows and undulations in the grasses of the curragh plains, the off-roading madness and skill that scares the baJazus out of me and the wind in the hair felling or what I remember that feeling like when I had hair. Cycling is great for the health, stamina, the cardio vascular health in particular, fitness levels do increase, weight loss never really happened for me as my referring windows were mostly filled with carbohydrate goodies. Sugar is an addictive mistress and should be eliminated from modern foods.
