Irelands Film industry is alive and well, we’ve a lot of really awesome Actors, Directors, Producers and film crew scattered throughout the emerald isle. Having massive tax incentives here for filming it’s no wonder we get so many countries coming over to have their films shot. Not only are we blessed with beautiful diverse countryside we are also fortunate and unfortunate to have four seasons in one day all throughout the year. It’s a mystery bag of weather at the best of times.
On my journey in to the filming world I’ve been very really lucky and fortunate to met amazing people, some of them you might know of heard of and others you may of even seen them live or in concert or failing that on the big silver screen. To be a jack of all trades has a great advantage in the Film industry as there is alway projects to get involved with and help. If you fancy yourself as the next great DOP its not a necessity to spend four years getting a film degree but more so to cut your cloth working on set, doesn’t matter what you get to start with, just pick something, do some volunteering. Then be helpful and respectful and work your way up, try a few disciplines and find out what you like and what you don’t. Be prepared to be excited & have fun, to be frustrated, tired and even elated all in the same day.
