Tonight, I had the pleasure of venturing into a realm of endless creativity, innovation and inspiration. As I made my way to this secret haven, I was welcomed by an old friend who I first met years ago while working on a filming project called DANNY BOY. We’ve stayed in touch ever since, and little did I know that he would be the one to introduce me to this wondrous place.
The minute I stepped into the door, I was immediately engulfed in a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere that was brimming with energy and excitement. I found myself in TOG, a hacker space that’s nestled just a 10-minute drive away from Dublin’s city center. This space is a sanctuary for makers, hackers, and creative minds alike, and it’s filled with every tool and resource a maker could ever dream of.

As I embarked on a tour of the space, I was blown away by the incredible array of technology and equipment that was available to the members. From laser cutters and engravers, to CNC milling machines, lathes for wood and steel, pillar drills, plasma cutters, welders, 3D printers and plotters, knitting machines and sewing machines – the list goes on! But it wasn’t just the sheer number of tools that impressed me, it was the camaraderie and support among the members that truly stood out.

It was clear to see that TOG is a community of like-minded individuals who share a passion for all things creative. They embrace both new and old technologies, and they’re always eager to lend a hand to anyone who needs it. Whether you’re a seasoned maker or just starting out on your journey, you’ll find a home at TOG. And to top it all off, they even have filament 3D printers and support resin printers too!
Overall, my visit to TOG was an unforgettable experience. I left feeling inspired, energized, and excited to see what else this amazing community of makers has in store.
