Endurance Laser, A shiny 10 watt optical laser finally arrived. It came all the way to sunny Ireland after its long voyage since the 9th of September 2021.
Yes, Mr Postman was busy playing pass the parcel with the laser for the last two months. It stopped being tracked when it reached the Netherlands. I thought for a moment it was in a coffee shop just chilling, watching the windmills and the tulips. Or perhaps smoking the reefer 😉
You may remember my podcast and YouTube video where I rated and slated my atomstack a5 laser diode. Well this 10 Watt laser is going to replace that broken unit.
Now the way it is now I’ve to modify the bracket and organise a large 10 amp power supply alongside an air supply unit. There is a bit of work to get it going but I can already tell by the weight of the unit it’s going to be a beast.
Two Peltier coolers are install sandwiched between two blocks of Aluminium, and the heat sink is sold, on top of this sandwich is a server cooler fan, its noisy but moves a huge volume of air so that is awesome. Im hoping that the whole thing will not be too much of a burden for the aluminium carriage on the Atomstack. If Atomstack build their servos as badly as they build their diodes I might have to think of an alternative solution. Maybe even fabricate my own or buy a kit online, any recommendations let me know.
So what projects have I in store? Well I’ve lots of ideas. I want to do test including stone and slate. Perhaps glass, let’s not forget some sexy stainless steel just for fun. I want to try to engrave some stainless knives. Plastics & maybe my laptop. Who do you trust when it comes to buying lasers? marketing is one thing, but real life verses fancy videos is another, a fair amount of influencers are sent free products to test and give review so it would be hard to have something unbiased and also the time they use the product for might not allow for it to show faults. I like to put products under pressure and get them to do the things I want them to do with out deliberately going over what they say they can do.
I would like to thank George from Endurance lasers who is extremely knowledgeable about all his products and Laser diodes of all shapes and sizes for all his help and support. A genuine honest and respectful human. When I have my laser up and running I will send you on some tests. Im expecting this endurance laser to last longer than two months, Atomstack you have the worst customer care and after sales ever. Take ownership of problems, instead you told me lies and Ive gone else where, you pay a little extra and you can get a better service from someone who cares about the products the sell. No where do you get a life time help and support except for endurance lasers.
